Rangers fans have responded on social media to a reported major development in the Celtic manager hunt.
On Wednesday, TalkSPORT claimed that Eddie Howe has agreed a deal to take over as Hoops boss for next season.
There’s been no official confirmation as yet, but last week, Celtic said that they hoped to soon be in a position to provide an update to supporters [Glasgow Times].
43-year-old Howe has been linked with the vacancy for some time, and if he is appointed, it will be his first job since leaving Bournemouth by mutual consent following their relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2019/20 season.
His Cherries side were praised for an attractive brand of football, but they were extremely fragile defensively at the back end of his tenure and he would have a big task on his hands given the current gulf between the Old Firm clubs.
Rangers have been truly outstanding this season, winning four of the five derbies and wrapping up the title by March, while recruitment is already well underway for next season.
As a result, few Bears are concerned by Howe’s reportedly imminent arrival in Glasgow, as they anticipate a period of Light Blue dominance.
Here’s a selection of reactions to the reported development from Twitter:
I honestly believe that if Celtic get him in ASAP and he buys 8-10 quality players they could really challenge with Aberdeen and Hibs for 2nd.
Meanwhile Rangers, The Champions, cruise to 56 🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧🇬🇧
