Rangers are finally back in action this afternoon as they make the short trip to Hamilton for a Scottish Premiership clash.

With the international break out of the way, today’s game marks the start of a season-defining stretch for the Gers with the club’s hopes in three competitions hanging in the balance.

Brian Rice’s side are currently one point off the foot of the table following a poor run of form and were destroyed 5-0 at Ibrox in the most recent meeting between the two teams.

What’s more, the Accies boss claimed earlier in the week that due to suspensions and injuries, he’s down to the ‘bare bones’ in terms of player availability [Sports Mole].

Things are much better in that regard for Steven Gerrard.

Potent goalscorer Alfredo Morelos encountered major delays when attempting to return to Glasgow from international duty and therefore has only managed to make the bench. Jermain Defoe leads the line in his stead.

Elsewhere, it’s an unchanged side from the one that defeated Livingston 2-0 last time out.

Filip Helander and Connor Goldson start at the back with the pairing on the hunt for a fifth consecutive clean sheet.

In midfield, Joe Aribo retains his place ahead of Steven Davis, who had a taxing couple of outings for Northern Ireland last week.

Meanwhile, in the final third, Ryan Kent and Scott Arfield provide Defoe’s support act.

Will this side be good enough to secure three points on the road? Plenty of Bears clearly think so.

Here’s a selection of reactions to the lineup:
