Rangers will travel to Paisley in a little over a fortnight to take on St. Mirren in the quarter-final of the League Cup – and Gers fans think it’s a pretty good draw for the Light Blues.

Steven Gerrard’s side will head just along the road to the SMISA Stadium for a place in the last four on December 15/16/17 as they look to secure the club’s first major trophy since 2011.

The Gers booked their place with a comfortable 4-0 win over Falkirk last night while, 24 hours earlier, the Buddies knocked out Aberdeen after a howler for Dons’ keeper Joe Lewis.

Gerrard’s side play Dundee United on Sunday December 13 so it seems very unlikely that they will feature on the Tuesday night – while playing St Mirren on Thursday December 17 will have a knock-on effect to the following weekend’s fixtures.

With Celtic and Aberdeen out of the competition, Rangers are definite favourites to go an and lift the trophy this season but there is still plenty to do.

St. Mirren have had a difficult start to the campaign but can pose the Gers real problems on their day – although fans on Twitter are pretty confident that Rangers will be heading to Hampden for the semis at least.
