Rangers fans on Twitter have been left in hysterics after German side Wolfsburg confirmed the officials for tonight’s clash with Malmo in the Europa League – only to be landed with a group of bungling Scottish officials.

Willie Collum will referee the game while Bobby Madden and Kevin Clancy will also both be part of the officiating team for the clash in Sweden.

Francis Connor and David McGeachie will also have roles while English official Chris Kavanagh completes the six-man team.

The bungling officials have been at the centre of a number of controversies this season alone, with Clancy putting in one of the most inept refereeing performances in years during December’s Old Firm win at Celtic Park.

With VAR also coming into play for tonight’s game, there’s a potent recipe for absolute disaster as officials who have struggled to get basic decisions right all season are now given a new fancy toy to play with.

Gers fans on Twitter find the prospect hilarious – with one joking they will look to send Alfredo Morelos off at some point tonight.
