Rangers and Celtic are stuck in limbo, like much of world football, as sport has largely shut down around the world as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic – but Celtic’s statement this afternoon insisting the Premiership season must not be declared void has brought an unsurprising backlash from Gers fans.
With the season suspended until further notice, Celtic have taken the opportunity to demand the trophy be handed to them while many around Scottish football, and beyond, worry about their health and job prospects.

The clubs have been in talks with the SPFL and Scottish FA, with UEFA setting a deadline of June 30th for domestic competitions to be completed by.
Current circumstances mean it looks unlikely that there will be any football in Scotland for a number of months.
Rangers and Hearts have voiced their opposition to any moves to award the title with Celtic, with one SPFL chairman claiming ‘self-interest’ was driving the decision-making process.
Fans on Twitter were a mix of embarrassed and outraged at Celtic’s statement – with one fan saying they are “embarrassed by nothing.”

Wouldn't be like celtic trying to put pressure on the governing bodies…
Embarrassing once again.
A horse race can't be won until the horse crosses the line. It could be 10 lengths clear and fall at the last hurdle. Think about it. https://t.co/fu1g0wkqpi
