Scottish FA compliance officer Clare Whyte is to step down from her role with the SFA early next year – and Rangers fans have taken to Twitter to react to the news of her departure.
The Scottish FA confirmed it in a statement released, citing a ‘new opportunity’ as the reason she will move on from her role at Hampden, saying: “The Scottish FA can confirm that Clare Whyte will leave her role as compliance officer to take up a new opportunity.

“Clare will remain in post until early in the New Year to ensure a smooth handover period with her successor.”
Scottish FA chief executive Ian Maxwell paid tribute to Whyte, thanking her for her time with the SFA in a “relentless environment.”
“I would like to thank Clare for her commitment to the role over the past two years with the Scottish FA,” Maxwell said.
“In what is a high-pressure position in a relentless environment, she has shown professionalism and resilience.
“We will begin the process of recruiting a replacement in early course.”
Rangers fans were quick to react to the news – with any expecting a suitably ‘Celtic-minded’ candidate to replace Whyte in the coming months.
