Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has confirmed the five players involved in the Covid breach on Saturday night – and Gers fans are disappointed to see’ future captain’ Nathan Patterson involved.

Patterson, Dapo Mebude, Academy keeper Brian Kinnear, Calvin Bassey and South Africa international Bongani Zungu were among ten people issued fixed penalty notices by Police Scotland on Sunday morning.

“Bongani Zungu is involved,” Gerrard said [Rangers TV]

“Nathan Patterson, Calvin Bassey and Dapo [Mebude], who is obviously a part of the Academy and on-loan at Queen of the South at the moment, and a young goalkeeper who is an Academy player but has spent some time around the first-team as well, Brian Kinnear.”

All five are now isolating and will be dealt with internally as well as facing the likelihood of lengthy Scottish FA bans on top.

George Edmundson and Jordan Jones were hit with seven-match bans earlier in the season for similar and the quintet will likely face something along the same lines.

Fans on Twitter were far from happy at their actions, with some singling out Patterson as a particular disappointment.
