Rangers fans have suffered some bad news as the transfer window starts heating up – after reports emerged that Nottingham Forest could take Shane Duffy from Celtic.

The Brighton defender is on loan at Parkhead and has been vital for Rangers in the push for 55 with a string of calamitous displays for the defending champions.

According to the Scottish Sun, the Championship could look to take the bungling defender off Celtic’s hands for the remainder of the season and give them a chance of securing second in the table.

Duffy’s old Brighton boss Chris Hughton is now in charge at the City Ground and wants a reunion with the defender – although it will almost certainly cost Celtic a few quid to get rid of him.

With one defender out of four months and the other two hardly setting the world on fire, the fact Celtic are considering letting Duffy leave speaks volumes of just how well he’s done across the city.

A seven-figure loan fee and wages higher than most players in the country was money well spent, according to Rangers fans, as they were upset by the news the Parkhead comedy figure could be leaving Scottish football.
