According to a PR blurb accompanying the book’s listing on Amazon, Whyte was “hung out to dry as the fall guy” for the club’s financial mismanagement which ultimately led to the liquidation of the company which operates the club, formed in 1899.

Whyte would later go on trial for fraud relating to his purchase of David Murray’s shares in 2011, before being acquitted after a shambolic trial.
