Rangers fans have been left in stitches after the club’s official Twitter account aimed a dig at rivals Celtic following their Champions League qualifying exit at the hands of FC Midtjylland.

After all, while The Wolves did reach the Champions League group stages last season, they aren’t much improved from the side that Rangers hammered 7-3 on aggregate in Europa League qualifying in 2019.

However, despite Callum McGregor’s volley putting the visitors ahead in Denmark on Wednesday evening, Ange Postecoglou’s side crashed out, with Raphael Nwadike’s extra-time goal proving the fatal blow.

Celtic will now need to get through several rounds of qualifying if they are to reach the Europa League proper and Rangers fans were delighted by the development.
