Aberdeen boss Derek McInnes has confirmed Rangers have made an approach to sign Dons’ star Scott Wright on a pre-contract – and Gers fans on Twitter are excited at the prospect of seeing him in blue.
McInnes praised the Light Blues for going about things “properly” after he spoke with Gers boss Steven Gerrard, who confirmed he wanted to bring Wright to Ibrox. [Daily Record]

Aberdeen are already resigned to losing the 23-year-old in the summer after Derek McInnes confirmed last week that attempts to get him to sign an extension were unsuccessful [Evening Express], so the Dons could look to cash in on him this month and claw something back for him.
Wright caught they eye early on in Sunday afternoon’s fixture between the two sides at Pittodrie, with the tricky 23-year-old leaving Connor Goldson for dead and nutmegging Borna Barisic during separate impressive runs but he faded before being replaced by Matty Kennedy after an hour.
Fans on Twitter are keen to see what he can bring to the Light Blues – with one suggesting he has “a hint of James Maddison” about him.
Here are some of the comments from Rangers fans on Twitter:
Derek, it is a pleasure. Thanks to you and all at @AberdeenFC for your support.

Rangers could look to offload one of their fringe men in a swap deal to bring Wright to Ibrox before this month’s transfer deadline
