Rangers fans are loving latest club partner announcement

Rangers today announced a new partnership with Glasgow Airport and Gers fans on Twitter were impressed with the news – although some also saw it as an excellent chance to poke fun at Celtic.

While fans were pleased to see the club continue their impressive commercial expansion with new partners such as Cadbury and Glasgow Airport, the chance to have a laugh at their expense proved to be too much.

The partnership will see the club advertised prominently around the airport and ‘travel benefits’ available to supporters through prize draws.

The airport will also be advertised within Ibrox and fans think the move is a very positive one for the club given the use of the airport and proximity to the stadium.

With over 9million passengers a year, prime advertising within the airport should be a big boost to the club but some Rangers fans expect they might see a dip in numbers as fans from across the city decide to travel from elsewhere.

One fan even jokingly suggested they’ll be swimming to Benidorm rather than flying from Glasgow Airport now given their links with Rangers.
