The Rangers Supporters Erskine Appeal (RSEA) have passed the incredible sum of £1million raised for Erskine since starting in 2007.

RSEA fundraising has helped purchase lifting aids and an assisted bath, refurbishment of the physiotherapy department in The Erskine Home, weekly aromatherapy sessions; the Centenary Garden and pathway, the Playlist for Life music project, weekly music therapy sessions, and most recently a hybrid vehicle after being started by Gers fan Tom Clark.

Since raising a phenomenal £34,000 in 2007, RSEA has raised funds through sponsored zip slides and abseils, football tournaments, golf days, Northern Soul nights and sportsman dinners.

“To reach over £1,000,000 for the Erskine Veterans has been a labour of love and I am delighted we have now passed this milestone,” Clark said [Erskine]

“To every single person who has donated a pound or given an hour of their time, thank you. Without them, we wouldn’t exist or have achieved what we have. Massive gratitude and thanks also goes to our Honorary President, the late Harold Davis, and his wife Vi.

“Our gratitude extends to our Patrons, alongside the countless organisations who have supported the RSEA over the years, of which there would be far too many to mention individually.”

Former Rangers striker Gordon Smith, who too over as RSEA president from Ibrox icon Harold Davis, paid tribute to the work done by the appeal since its formation and is looking forward to helping to continue their incredible support.

“The RSEA are a credit to the Rangers support” Smith said.

“The funds raised for Erskine are fantastic. Having been a patron I have seen first-hand the work that goes in to helping the ex-servicemen and women looked after by Erskine.

“To follow on from the legendary Harold Davis as President is a huge challenge and one, I am looking forward to.”
