Rangers' Euro rivals set to bin record signing after flopping at Antwerp - report

Rangers’ Europa League rivals Royal Antwerp look set to send record signing Benson Manuel on loan before the end of the month after struggling for form this season, according to a report.

The Daily Record claim that the 23-year-old winger will be allowed to move on loan, 18 months after smashing their transfer record to sign hin Genk for £3million.

A loan move this month is said to be likely with Dutch duo Groningen and PEC Zwolle both interested in signing Manuel, who has struggled as a result of injuries and poor form.

The winger played against Tottenham and Ludogorets in the Europa League group stage but looks set to miss next month’s double-header against Rangers.

It’s been a difficult few weeks for the Belgians off the pitch after manager Ivan Leko upped and left to go join Chinese side Shanghai SIPG, veteran coach Franky Vercauteren replacing him in the dugout.

Then there was the bizarre row involving Didier Lamkel Ze when he turned up to training in an Anderlecht shirt in a bid to force a move to Greek side Panathinaikos – which continues to be blocked.
