Rangers have joined the race to sign 18-year-old Bolton Wanderers midfielder Luca Connell, according to a report, but face competition from the likes of Southampton and Norwich City for his signature.
According to a report from the Daily Mail, the Gers are “leading” the chase for Connell as Steven Gerrard wastes no time in adding to his squad.
The Irishman is out of contract this summer but Norwich will be due a compensation fee if he moves on.
Gerrard has already added
Connell has made 12 appearances for the Trotters this season and has impressed despite the ongoing drama surrounding the club’s ownership.
The Liverpool-born midfielder has been part of Bolton’s Academy for a decade and it would likely cost in the region of £500,000 in development fees should he sign for the Gers.
