Rangers pair George Edmundson and Jordan Jones have been hit with a seven-game ban for their stupidity in attending a house party despite ongoing Covid-19 restrictions.
The pair have been suspended by the club pending an internal disciplinary investigation but the SFA have today confirmed they will be banned until the end of December.
Both players were charged with breaching Disciplinary Rules 24 and 77 and won’t be eligible to play domestically again until the Light Blues face St. Mirren on December 30.
With both players also missing out on the Gers’ Europa League squad, it seems incredibly unlikely either will kick a ball again for Rangers in 2020, at least.
When the players were originally caught, Gers managing director Stewart Robertson made no attempt at hiding his anger in a strongly worded statement on the club’s website.
“The chairman Douglas Park, Ross Wilson, Steven Gerrard and I discussed this matter as soon as it was brought to our attention,” he said.
“We are completely aligned in our action and the standards that are being set at Rangers.
“We will not tolerate behaviour that does not follow those standards and it is totally unacceptable for any of our players to be involved in anything that puts at risk the excellent protocols that have been put in place at Rangers.”
