Rangers could face competition from former Gers boss Mark Warburton in their bid to sign Chelsea youngster Conor Gallagher, with reports claiming QPR want to sign him on loan this month.
According to Goal.com, Warburton’s side wants to sign the midfielder, currently on loan at Charlton, as they look to improve on their current position of 15th in the Championship.
Football London claimed that Steven Gerrard is also looking to sign Gallagher on loan after an impressive stint at The Valley so far this season from the 19-year-old.
Gallagher has made 25 appearances for Lee Bowyer’s side, scoring six times and contributing three assists, and has been one of the stand-out players for the Addicks this season.
Burnley, Norwich, West Bromwich Albion, Millwall and Swansea have all been credited with an interest in Gallagher, although he could also opt to remain with Charlton until the summer before returning to Stamford Bridge.
Rangers have let Andy King return to Leicester City after failing to break into the side so Gallagher will have a battle on his hands to force his way into the starting XI at Ibrox.
The Gers have a wealth of options in central midfield, although the loss of King and likely exit of Matt Polster and Greg Docherty could make adding some more depth a good idea for Rangers this month.
