Lincoln Red Imps manager William Amaral de Andrade believes his side will come up against the best team and the best manager in Scotland when they face Rangers in tonight’s Europa League clash in Gibraltar.
The Brazilian admits that the second qualifying round is a “massive” game for Gibraltar as a whole and hopes his players can “enjoy the moment” against the Light Blues.
Despite his side being up against it, de Andrade insists that the Rangers clash is exactly the draw he wanted as they look to set up a third qualifying round tie with Willem II.
“For me and the players, it’s a game everyone is looking forward to,” de Andrade said, as quoted by the Scottish Sun.
“Getting a draw like this is what we wanted.
“For Gibraltar, it’s a massive game.
“We just have to enjoy the moment and make sure the players do what we have been asking them to do.
“We know that we’re playing against the best team in Scotland, against the best manager in Scotland.”
The Gers have been in Gibraltar since Tuesday afternoon and trained yesterday at Victoria Stadium ahead of tonight’s game.
Gerrard has Alfredo Morelos available for selection after he was injured against Dundee United but Leon Balogun, Ryan Jack and Brandon Barker will all miss out.
De Andrade’s comments will no doubt spark a hilarious reaction from Celtic fans as they fall over themselves to convince everyone (and themselves) that their manager is Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp rolled into one.
