Rangers winger Brandon Barker could return to action for Steven Gerrard’s side in tonight’s Europa League playoff clash with Galatasaray after he was a last-minute addition to the Gers squad.

Barker has been sidelined since picking up an injury against Dundee United last month but has been added to the 21-man UEFA A list ahead of third-choice keeper Andy Firth.

Gerrard confirmed in his press conference yesterday that Barker was back in full training alongside Ryan Jack and he could now be set for a place on the bench tonight.

The former Manchester City youngster has been a regular feature in the side this season so far and looks to have won over Gerrard despite struggling to find his feet at Ibrox.

With Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent likely to start tonight, Barker and Jordan Jones will be left to deputise against the Turkish giants in the playoff fixture.

The Gers haven’t had their problems to seek with injuries this season with Allan McGregor, Leon Balogun, Niko Katic, Joe Aribo and Jermain Defoe all joining Barker and Jack on the sidelines at some point so far.

Barker’s return is hardly going to be one that is celebrated from the rooftops from fans but the Rangers winger could just find himself with a role to play tonight or on Sunday against Ross County.
