Ryan Kent is the best player in Scotland at the minute and Rangers not selling him over the summer was a ‘great’ decision by the Light Blues – according to Tam McManus.
The former striker-turned-pundit was blown away by Kent’s performance in the 4-0 rout of Aberdeen and McManus doesn’t think anyone is on the former Liverpool youngster’s level in Scotland.
After rejecting bids from Leeds United over the summer, Kent has really kicked on this season, and Rangers are proving to be totally vindicated in keeping him.
“Ryan Kent was outstanding, his goal was brilliant,” McManus said. [PLZ Soccer]
“I think he is, without doubt, the best player in Scotland at the minute and a key player for Rangers.
“I look at not selling him in the window, that was great from Rangers’ point of view.”
Kent wowed fans with his performance against Aberdeen – with his nutmeg on Funso Ojo earning particular praise as the Gers threatened to run riot.
Rangers rejected a £10m bid [Scottish Sun] for the winger and have been rewarded with some excellent performances to help them open up an eleven point lead over Celtic in the league,
Steven Gerrard has previously claimed that Leeds were “nowhere near” Rangers’ valuation of Kent with their bid this summer and with six goals and seven assists in 20 appearances this season, it’s hard to disagree.
