Former Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos could now be set for a lucrative move to Brazilian side Santos as Al-Hilal reportedly agree a blockbuster deal for PSG attacker Neymar.

According to the likes of BBC Sport, the Saudi Pro League side have now struck a £77.6m deal to make the Brazilian superstar the latest name who will move to the Middle East.

This follows a substantial summer of Saudi investment with several of football’s biggest names now set to ply their trade in the country next season, not least ex-Rangers star Fashion Sakala.

The transfer of Neymar certainly dwarfs the reported £4m Al-Fayha paid to sign the Zambian attacker but the Rangers links don’t begin an end with Fashion’s move to Saudi.

Neymar deal an Alfredo Morelos Santos domino

According to reputable Italian outlet Gazzetta dello Sport, Alfredo Morelos is currently a target for Brazilian side Santos, for whom Al-Hilal bound Neymar once plied his trade.

The report claims that AS Roma are considering Santos striker Marcos Leonardo this summer with discussions still up in the air around Atalanta striker Duvan Zapata.

According to the Italian outlet, Alfredo Morelos is being targeted as a replacement by Santos but that any deal could come down to wages with the Colombian hoping for a move to Europe.

Alfie is reportedly demanding around £2m in wages from the Brazilian side and this is where Al-Hilal’s move for ex-Santos star Neymar comes in.

As stated by Gazzetta, should the deal reach the €90m, that’s £77.6m, reported by BBC Sport, then Santos will be due a €3.6m (£3m) solidarity payment for their ex-player.

This, it is claimed, is enough for Santos to go and sign a contract with Alfredo Morelos and all eyes are now on Brazil when it comes to the former Rangers striker.

Alfredo Morelos left Rangers this summer after six years at Ibrox where he played 269 times for the club, scoring 124 goals and laying on 58 assists.
