English football journalist Joe Crann is claiming that negotiations are “ongoing” between Rangers and Amiens over South Africa midfielder Bongani Zungu as reports around the player intensify.
The 27-year-old midfielder was first linked to the Ibrox side by France Football, who originally claimed it would cost between €2-3m to bring the box-to-box midfielder to Ibrox.
However, the comments of Joe Crann suggest that price could be a potential stumbling block with Amiens holding out for €4-5m.

Crann claims here that “Steven Gerrard wants him” with Zungu a full South African international who will offer more dynamism in midfield and chip in with the odd goal.
Currently plying his trade with Amiens in Ligue 1, Zungu has previously played in his home country with Mamelodi Sundowns FC and in Portugal with Vitória de Guimarães.
Whilst turning out for Mamelodi, Zungu won two South African championships and one South African Cup.
The midfielder also played for South Africa at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations, where South Africa reached the quarter-finals.

Whilst the midfielder will largely be an unknown quantity for many Gers fans, a lack of drive and creativity from back to front was evident in the latter half of last season.
Rangers will have done their homework on this one and if it is to come to fruition, Zungu will be expected to come in and perform straight away.
Steven Gerrard has consistently reiterated this window is about quality over quantity with top European talent Ianis Hagi, former Leicester youth left-back Calvin Bassey and Scotland international keeper Jon McLaughlin already signing on at Ibrox.
Will Bongani Zungu be the next name through the door at the Rangers Training Centre?
