Motherwell manager has 'no bitterness' towards Rangers-bound star

Motherwell manager Stephen Robinson has admitted that there is “no bitterness” over Jake Hastie’s move to Rangers – and insists he hopes the move works out for the youngster.
Rangers confirmed Hastie has signed a pre-contract earlier this week and the Scotland under-21 international will join the Light Blues this summer.

Robinson admits that there aren’t “too many people” who could walk away from a “heck of a lot” more money – but he would have liked Hastie to have stayed at Fir Park.
“Of course, in an ideal world, we would have liked to have kept him for another couple of years,” Robinson said, as quoted by FourFourTwo.

“But there isn’t too many people in any walk of life who, offered a heck of a lot more money than we could have come up with to move 15 minutes down the road, could say no.
“So there is no bitterness, I don’t take it personally. That’s where we are as a football club.
“People have decisions to make in life and Jake’s made that decision and we wish him well, we wish him good luck. We hope it works out for the best for him.”
Hastie will join Jordan Jones as new faces in Steven Gerrard’s squad when both complete their moves in the summer.

The Motherwell star has had a blistering start to life in the first-team at Fir Park with seven goals in 17 appearances for the Steelmen since returning from a loan at Alloa.
If he can keep that sort of form up at Ibrox then there’s no doubt that fans will quickly take to him and his move will be a success.
