Rangers striker Alfredo Morelos has called Gers boss Steven Gerrard an “absolute legend” and admitted it is “incredible” to work under the Liverpool icon.
Gerrard has been getting the best out of Morelos in recent months and seems to have a real affinity for the Colombian.
It would appear to go both ways as Morelos was quick to praise his boss, saying he is constantly learning.
“Gerrard is an absolute legend and for someone like me, to get coached from him every day is incredible. There’s something new I learn each training session,” Morelos told Colombia’s Caracol Radio.
“He’s a great coach and I am very happy to work with him.
“I heard he compared me with Luis Suarez! That’s very exciting for me. I love playing for him and I feel I am improving.”
Morelos missed yesterday’s 0-0 Scottish Cup draw with Kilmarnock as he served the first of a three-game ban.
Despite still having two more games to serve, he will be available for next week’s replay – despite it being the third game since he was banned.
The striker has hit the net 23 times in 38 appearances as he goes from strength to strength in Scotland.
With a Copa America this year, El Buffalo will be hoping to catch the eye and add to his sole cap.
