Fleetwood Town have confirmed the signing of Rangers midfielder Jordan Rossiter on a season-long loan deal.

The midfielder joins former Ibrox team-mates Joey Barton and Clint Hill at Fleetwood as he enters the final year of his Rangers contract.

Fleetwood confirmed the signing on their official Twitter account and the former Liverpool youth becomes Town’s fifth signing of the summer.

Rossiter has had an injury-plagued three years at Ibrox but seems to have got over the worst and is now aiming to get his career back on track.

After spending the second half of last season on loan at Bury, Rossiter managed a consistent run of games for the first time in his senior career.

While at Gigg Lane, Rossiter played a key role in helping the Shakers secure the League Two title and scored on the final day of the season against Port Vale.

With only one year left on his Gers deal, Rossiter will be hoping he can impress and either win an extended Ibrox contract or a permanent move elsewhere.

Barton has used his Ibrox links pretty well since moving into management with Jason Holt spending last season on loan at Fleetwood.

Rossiter only managed a handful of appearances for the Gers during his time in Scotland after an injury sustained shortly after signing in 2016 halted his career.

Hopefully, a season playing regularly can help Rossiter get his career going again and live up to the potential that saw his arrival at Ibrox well-hyped.
