Joe Worrall has admitted his form hasn’t been great but revealed he is “loving it at Rangers.”
The defender joined on loan from Nottingham Forest in the summer and has been a regular in the first-team.
Despite a shaky start, Worrall has pushed Niko Katic aside and is arguably first-choice alongside Connor Goldson.
Fans have been split on the defender and Worrall acknowledges that his performances could have been better.
Even though he admits he’s had a “few wobbles” Worrall insists the Ibrox coaching staff can only help him improve.
“I had a few wobbles along the way and I didn’t play great in a couple of games but I back myself just to get my head down and crack on,” Worrall told Rangers TV
“I’m really enjoying it, the lads are great and the manager and the coaching staff are helping me and coaching me along.
“I think it’s good and I can only get better as a player and as a person as well and trying to help other people. So I’m loving it at Rangers.”
Since arriving at Ibrox, Worrall has made 17 appearances as Gerrard’s side have put themselves in a title race.
Fans might prefer to see Katic in defence but the Englishman has quietly gone about his business.
It’s unlikely he’ll still be at Ibrox next season but a strong run of performances can only help his development.
With a title challenge very much on, he’ll need to be at his very best if 55 is to happen.
With Katic and Gareth McAuley also competing for a jersey, a slight drop in form could see him out the side completely.
