Colombia boss Carlos Quieroz has praised Rangers star Alfredo Morelos‘ “outstanding” start to the season and is looking forward to getting to team El Bufalo with iconic international team-mate Radamel Falcao.
Morelos and Falcao will go head-to-head next week at Ibrox when Falcao’s Galatasaray come to Ibrox in the Europa League as he praised the pair – and Everton superstar James Rodríguez.
Colombia host Venezuela on October 9 before travelling to face Chile four days later and the former Real Madrid manager is “excited” at the prospect of having all three available next month.
“We have had some outstanding starts to the season from our players in Europe,” Querioz said, as spoke about Colombia’s upcoming World Cup qualifers with Chile and Venezuela. (Daily Record).
“I’m talking about Radamel Falcao, Alfredo Morelos and James Rodríguez in particular.
“The return of our captain Falcao is great for us and it will be interesting to see him with Morelos.
“I’m excited about my selection and this squad has a lot of players who have been in good form.”
Morelos is currently one goal away from drawing level with Ally McCoist’s all-time club record for European games and, after failing to do so it on Super’s birthday on Thursday night, drawing level as he faces his hero would be a pretty fitting time to write his name into the folklore of the club.
So far, Morelos has seven caps and one goal for his country and will be hoping to cement his place in the starting XI during the qualification for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.
The Rangers star would do his chances no harm if he scores the goals to knock Falcao and Galatasaray out of this season’s Europa League.
