Rangers manager Steven Gerrard is reportedly set to hold Anfield talks with former club Liverpool over the possibility of a return to Ibrox for Ryan Kent.
The winger’s loan deal expires at the end of next month and Gerrard has made no secret of his desire to keep Kent at Ibrox beyond then.
The Sun (14/4 p61) report Gerrard is to pay a visit to Liverpool to discuss a potential move for the Anfield winger after arguably the best season of his career to-date.
Kent has been in spectacular form at times this season and scored in the recent Old Firm defeat by Celtic to take his tally to six for the season.
Whether any potential deal would be a permanent move or another loan remains to be seen but after recent suggestions the winger would cost up to £12million then a loan seems to be the most likely.
The Gers are also likely to face stiff competition to sign Kent after his impressive spell in Scottish football helped kick-start his career.
The 22-year-old has made 39 appearances altogether for the Gers and will almost certainly have a big part to play in the final few games of the season.
If Gerrard can strike a deal to bring him back north next season then it will have a huge impact for the Gers moving forward.
