Former Rangers defender Steven Whittaker is set to join Scott Brown at Fleetwood Town as assistant manager, according to a report.
The former Celtic midfielder was appointed head coach at Fleetwood yesterday as he follows in Joey Barton’s footsteps and is set to reunite with his former Hibs teammate at Highbury.

Whittaker has been working as first-team coach at Dunfermline this season under Peter Grant then John Hughes as the Pars were relegated from the Championship.
However, Whittaker is now expected to leave East End Park and head south to join Brown as the former Celtic captain takes his first steps in management.
The former Scotland international burned his bridges with many Rangers fans after his shameless press conference in 2012 with Steven Naismith.
Fleetwood narrowly retained their place in League One this season, and with Brown and Whittaker in charge, it is unlikely many Rangers fans will be keeping an eye out for their results.
