Former Rangers star Jason Holt will be involved this weekend when Livingston and St. Johnstone compete for the League Cup at Hampden – and the midfield dynamo wants to banish memories of his last cup final appearance, losing to Hibs in 2014.

Holt was part of the Gers side who won the Challenge Cup at Hampden over Peterhead before losing to Hibs in the Scottish Cup final, and also has a losing League Cup final appearance to his name from his time at Hearts.

Holt admits he wants to avoid the feeling of disappointment he experienced after losing to Hibs when the Lions look to ad their second major trophy in their history.

“I was massively disappointed (v Hibs) so I just want to make sure that I don’t feel like that again,” Holt said [The Scotsman]

“It was horrible so I want to be on the right end of things on Sunday.”

Holt could be joined in the side by Rangers loanee Robby McCrorie when they take on the Perth side at Hampden this weekend – while yet another Rangers youngster is on loan at St. Johnstone, Glenn Middleton, although will be unable to play in the final.
