Ex-Rangers ace admits it 'was only a matter of time' before Gers' dominated Premiership

Former Rangers defender Lee Hodson has admitted that it was “only a matter of time” before the Light Blues dominated the Premiership and admits that it wasn’t a surprise when things finally clicked this season.

The Gers are cruising towards their first title in a decade and could restore their 23-point lead at the top of the table with a win over Hodson’s Hamilton this afternoon.

“It was only a matter of time before this happened,” he said [The Herald]. “They brought Steven in to do it and he’s done very well.

“With the players they’ve recruited, they’re strengthening all the time. So it doesn’t surprise me what’s happened this season.

“People expect when a new manager comes in for it to happen overnight. But sometimes it doesn’t Sometimes it can take six months, a year, before things start gelling together.

“When you get new people in the building, they need time to get it right. This season, it’s started to click for Rangers and they’ve done extremely well.”

The Gers can move to within 5 games of the title with a win this afternoon, needing only 17 points to secure the league before this afternoon’s game kicks off.
