Chris Sutton has named three Rangers players in his Team of the Week after the Light Blues’ win over Hearts at Tynecastle on Saturday.

Nikola Katic, Ryan Jack, and Jermain Defoe have all been named in Sutton’s best XI with all three getting on the scoresheet at Tynecastle.

Gers boss Steven Gerrard has also been named Manager of the Week, as confirmed by Sutton’s BT Sport colleague Darrell Currie on Twitter.

All three Rangers players were in scintillating form against Hearts at the weekend and hopefully, they can carry that into this weekend’s clash with Aberdeen.

Sutton isn’t normally one for lavishing praise on Rangers player so it’s surprising to see so many of Gerrard’s side named in his Team of the Week.

Veteran hitman Defoe opened the scoring in Gorgie before Ryan Jack made it 2-0 before the break as the Gers cruised to a comfortable win.

Katic added a third after half-time before Steven MacLean grabbed a consolation for the hosts.

With four games to go in the campaign, hopefully, more of Gerrard’s side can force some grudging praise for Sutton – ideally after the upcoming Old Firm clash.
