Rangers legend Ally McCoist has given his verdict on suggestions the Gers could move to bring Jack Wilshere to the club – and the Light Blues’ all-time greatest goalscorer admits he would like to see the former England star at Ibrox.
Wilshere was released by West Ham on deadline day, leading fans to think he could he on his way to Glasgow, and McCoist thinks the talented-but-injury-prone star has “too much to offer” to head somewhere like MLS.
“I heard Joe Cole say he should go to America, and I get that, I absolutely get that,” McCoist told TalkSport. “The lifestyle, go and play somewhere hot, whether it’s Tampa or Miami or wherever it may be, I get that.
“But I just feel he’s still surely got too much to offer. I’d like to see him at Ibrox.
“I think he’s a brilliant football player, I really do, I think he’s a terrific little football player.”
Rangers fans are keen to see the former Arsenal star arrive at Ibrox after leaving West Ham but it remains to be seen if there’s anything to the speculation.
There’s no doubt Wilshere has the talent to succeed but his injury history makes for very worrying reading – especially for someone who is likely to be among the top earners at the club.
