Rangers could face rookie Celtic defender Stephen Welsh in this afternoon’s Old Firm clash at Parkhead – according to a ‘leaked’ team doing the rounds online.
Celtic’s XI for big games has consistently been leaked in recent months and this one appears to be no different with the apparent starting XI all over Twitter.
That sees the 20-year-old defender, who hasn’t played since appearing against Hamilton back in February, coming into the side with Christopher Jullien missing out.
There is also no place in the side for French striker Odsonne Edouard after his late return to Scotland yesterday following his positive test for Coronavirus while on international duty.
Ryan Christie, Nir Biton and Hatem Abd Elhamed are all already out of the game and losing Jullien and Edouard would be a massive boost to Rangers’ chances of picking up three points and extending their lead at the top of the table.
Rangers look to be over the worst of their injury problems with Niko Katic the only confirmed absence while Kemar Roofe and Joe Aribo edge closer and closer to a return to action.
However Celtic line up, Rangers will need to be at their very best to take what could prove to be a massive win in the club’s bid to finally get their hands on 55.
