Rangers return to action this afternoon as Gio van Bronckhorst’s side welcomes Premier League side Tottenham to Ibrox to compete for the Walter Tull Memorial Cup.
The Light Blues are just a week away from the start of the Scottish Premiership campaign and van Bronckhorst will be looking to put the finishing touches to his plans ahead of facing Livingston next weekend.
Rangers have already beaten West Ham and Blackpool so far in pre-season while the Gers’ opening friendly against Sunderland was abandoned.
There could be first appearances for Malik Tillman and Ben Davies after they joined the Light Blues last week, while fans will be hoping to see more of fellow new signings Rabbi Matondo, Tom Lawrence, Antonio Colak and John Souttar.
Spurs boss Antonio Conte is looking forward to bringing his side to Ibrox this afternoon as they ramp up their own preparations for the new season.
“It’s a big game, and I’m sure the atmosphere will be amazing,” he said. “When you play away against Rangers or against Celtic it’s always very difficult because you play in an amazing atmosphere, but it is a good test for us and we’re talking about a very good team.
“They lost the final of the Europa League last season, and in their last friendly game they beat West Ham 3-1.
This is another big test for us, a big team.
“I know a little bit of the rivalry between England and Scotland, so it will be interesting!”
