Tonight at 6pm, Rangers conclude their trip to Florida against Corinthians. The Brazilian side are likely to present a stiffer test than their fellow league side Mineiro did earlier in the week. Colin Kazim-Richards, briefly of Celtic, will be one name Rangers fans are aware of.
In their previous match against PSV, Corinthians played a 4-3-3 and changed their entire team at half time. I’d expect them to do the same in this one. They also have a day extra of rest and will likely have more energy. They’ll be more accustomed to the warmer conditions for one thing.
With results going as they have, Rangers can win the group with either a draw or a win. The latter could even see them win the Florida Cup. Despite that, the game will be used again to get players minutes on the pitch, and there won’t be too many risks taken. It’s been confirmed that Foderingham will start the game, but the rest is largely guesswork.

I think the teams will somewhat mix first team experience with youth, and will be totally changed at half time as saw on Thursday night. I’d imagine Ryan Hardie will get on the pitch this time, and that Kelly will come on for the last 30 minutes again. There’s been no mention of any injuries being picked up in the Mineiro game. Hopefully, this one will see the squad come out unscathed as well.
It’s hard to suggest that the game is pretty meaningless. The Rangers support were up at midnight on a Thursday night watching a glorified friendly by any means possible. We’re not the best at not caring about a result. What has been evident, though, is that the squad have enjoyed the trip, and they’ve worked hard. The games will hopefully add some confidence, but this was designed to set the team up for the rest of the season. These sort of trips will have allowed new signings and established players to get to know each other better.
And that’s why the criticism of the Snapchat videos Windass has been posting on the official account are over the top. Most realise they are just signs of a squad having some fun. Those who think they show the wrong attitude or that past squads wouldn’t have done this are wide of the mark. A lot of our previous squads will be thankful they never had camera phones around in their day…
In terms of a prediction for tonight, I think the game will finish 1-1, and Rangers will win the penalty shoot out.
