Rangers Scottish Cup final starting XI confirmed as Gers face Hearts

It is Scottish Cup final day and Rangers boss Gio van Bronckhorst has named his starting XI for the Hampden clash with Hearts, making five changes from Wednesday’s defeat by Frankfurt.

After the agony of losing the Europa League final on Wednesday night, Gio and his side go one more time before the curtain comes down on the season.

With the Light Blues having gone since 2009 without lifting the Scottish Cup, there is plenty of expectation amongst the Rangers support as they head to Hampden.

Ending the season trophyless would be a big blow after the rollercoaster season we’ve endured but the players should be well up for this afternoon’s game.

A number of Gio van Bronckhorst’s stars could be making their final appearances for the Light Blues today with a some out of contract, others returning to their parent club after loans and some likely to be sold as Gio rebuilds his side in the summer.

After going through 120 minutes of football in the heat of Seville in midweek, the Rangers boss is likely to make use of his subs to inject some fresh legs later in the game.

Cup keeper Jon McLaughlin returns to the side to face Hearts with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey ahead of him.

The Rangers midfield consists of John Lundstram, Scott Arfield and Steven Davis while Amad and Ryan Kent support Joe Aribo in attack.

Here’s how Rangers line up against Hearts at Hampden in the Scottish Cup final

Rangers: McLaughlin, Tavernier, Goldson, Balogun, Bassey, Lundstram, Davis, Arfield, Diallo, Kent, Aribo.
Subs: McGregor, King, Jack, Ramsey, Kamara, Sands, Lowry, Itten, Wright, Roofe, Sakala
