Rangers predicted XI: Two changes v Aberdeen as Gers mark 150 years

Rangers celebrate the club’s 150th anniversary this afternoon with a Scottish Premiership clash against Aberdeen at Ibrox and Gers boss Gio van Bronckhorst will have some tough decisions to make over his team selection against the Dons.

After the 1-0 win over St Johnstone in midweek kept the Gers right on Celtic’s heels in the title race, it is becoming clear that one or two of his side need a rest.

With the likes of Fil Helander, Ryan Jack and Aaron Ramsey available for selection, it gives the Dutchman some more options to choose from.

However, there isn’t likely to be wholesale changes there is almost certain to be one or two this afternoon.

Allan McGregor should continue in goals with Gio having shown faith in the veteran after some recent mistakes, while the same back four from midweek – James Tavernier, Connor Goldson, Leon Balogun and Calvin Bassey – seem likely to get the nod.

In midfield, Wednesday’s goalscorer Glen Kamara may have to settle for a place on the bench with Ryan Jack coming back in to join John Lundstram and Joe Aribo in the middle of the park.

Scott Arfield’s recent exertions have left the Canadian running on fumes and he will likely be replaced in the starting XI this afternoon, Fashion Sakala taking his place alongside Ryan Kent and Alfredo Morelos in attack.

Here’s how we think Rangers will line up against Aberdeen this afternoon:
