Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst has confirmed that striker Kemar Roofe will be available for selection ahead of the Europa League Final.
The Dutch coach was providing the press with a squad update ahead of the match as upwards of 100k Rangers fans descend on Seville
The Rangers team have a monumental opportunity to go and make themselves legends and write their names into not only Ibrox, but European footballing history.
These chances don’t come around often and Rangers fans have been musing all week about the availability of Jamaican international Kemar Roofe.
It isn’t clear if the forward will start against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League Final but Giovanni van Bronckhorst revealed that the striker is available, meaning Rangers won’t be going into this match without a recognised forward.
The Ibrox side managed to overcome RB Leipzig over two legs without an out-and-out striker playing a minute for the club.
Rangers’ Kemar Roofe passed fit for Europa League Final
“Kemar is available,” said van Bronckhorst [STV].
“He trained for the first time with us yesterday. He had individual training before that and he will be training later.
“He will be in the squad and if I want to use him he is available.
“Of course it’s a boost for us. He got injured a couple of weeks ago, he was in a good spell, very important for the team.
“I’m happy that he is back because he was working hard to be ready for the Leipzig game. He didn’t make it so we just extended it for him for the final.
“He is here and he is ready to play his part.”
Kemar Roofe hasn’t been seen in a Rangers side since the Scottish Cup semi final win over Celtic and his inclusion in the squad comes as a major boost to the club.
But the question is, will the ex-Leeds United and Anderlecht forward start the match in the Roman Sánchez Pizjuán stadium?
