The semi-professional club did shock Celtic on their artificial surface in 2016, though, so they shouldn’t be underestimated.

Rangers’ respect for Lincoln is reflected in the visitor’s starting XI, with Gerrard retaining a number of players from the side that thrashed Dundee United 4-0 on Saturday.

There’s just one change to the back four, with George Edmundson replacing Filip Helander for the Englishman’s first outing of the season.

In midfield, Glen Kamara and Scott Arfield take up the two deeper-lying roles.

Summer signing Cedric Itten leads the line in his first European appearance for the club and he will be supported by an attacking trio of Kemar Roofe, Ianis Hagi and Greg Stewart, who, as predicted, comes in for his first start of the 2020/21 campaign.

There are places on the bench for the likes of Steven Davis, Alfredo Morelos, Ryan Kent and Jermain Defoe.
