The hosts have a few injury problems with Leon Balogun, Filip Helander, Ryan Jack and Kemar Roofe all out, but they are still better off than the visitors who are depleted following a Covid outbreak at Tannadice.

Tam Courts’ side are also very short of form coming into this one, having lost each of their last three league matches.

Rangers starting XI vs Dundee United

Allan McGregor keeps his spot in goal but there’s a change to the back four after Borna Barisic failed to recover from illness in time for the match.

Nathan Patterson has replaced the Croatia international, with James Tavernier, Connor Goldson and Calvin Bassey all continuing.

John Lundstram returns in midfield to partner Glen Kamara, and it looks like Scott Arfield will be playing further forward with Joe Aribo dropping to the bench.

Ianis Hagi and Ryan Kent keep their spots on the flanks while Alfredo Morelos leads the line.

Will this team be strong enough to secure all three points at Ibrox?

Here’s a selection of reactions from Twitter:

This starting XI has taken plenty of Bears by surprise but Gio had few options in defence with Jack Simpson very much out of favour, while Aribo has likely been taken out of the side because he’s only one yellow card away from suspension.
