Cult Rangers hero confirms Ibrox attendance on official Braga duties

Cult Rangers hero turned Braga translator Manik Mane has confirmed that he’ll be travelling to Glasgow on official duties ahead of the Europa League Quarter Final second leg.

The stylish linguist took to Twitter to make the announcement and claims he’s delighted to be translating for the “most successful club this sport has ever seen”.

This comes after Covid-19 protocols prevented the press conference interpreter being visible in the pre-match preparations for the first leg of the clash, which was won 1-0 by Braga.

That didn’t stop the interpreter having an amazing time in Braga as Manik Mane was spotted partying with fans and even thanked them for the warm welcome.

Now a bonafide bluenose, it’s great to see Manik Mane so buzzing to be coming to Glasgow and we’re sure the Rangers support will give him a warm welcome.

Who is Rangers Braga interpreter Manik Mane?

Manik Mane made headlines during Rangers’ last clash with SC Braga in the Europa League last 32 in season 19/20.

Images of the eccentrically dressed interpreter sitting alongside Steven Gerrard went viral and the character’s communications online have helped endear him to the Rangers support.

Regularly posting about the club, the moment clearly means a lot to Manik Mane who even appeared on radio shows in his homeland after going viral.

Since then the stylish interpreter has gone on to regularly post about Rangers on social media and even visited Ibrox Stadium on his travels.

It’s a great Europa League story and it’s good to hear Manik Mane will be back doing what he does best as Rangers prepare to face off against Braga.

The Portuguese side warmed up for the clash with Rangers by overcoming the odds to record a fourth straight victory.
