Rangers star in starting XI for Nations League clash with Portugal

Rangers star Borna Barisic has been named in Croatia’s starting XI for tonight’s Nations League clash with Portugal – and will have the task of keeping Wolves star Diogo Jota quiet.

Barisic, who won the SPFL’s Goal of the Month for August with a stunning free-kick against St. Johnstone lines up alongside the likes of Dejan Lovren and Andrej Kramarić for the Croatians in Porto’s Estádio do Dragão.

The Rangers defender has had a fantastic start to the season, helping Steven Gerrard’s side to a club-record six consecutive clean sheets to start the campaign.

Barisic has also chipped in with three assists so far this season as he continues to make the left-back berth his own for club and country.

After tonight’s clash with Portugal, Barisic and his Croatian team-mates will face World Champions France at the Stade de France in Paris.

His form for Rangers has reportedly attracted interest from Premier League new boys Leeds United as Marcelo Bielsa looks to strengthen his squad after winning the Championship.

The Gers star signed an extended contract last season and has show why he is arguably one of the best full-backs in Britain with his displays for Rangers and Croatia.
