Rangers midfielder Joe Aribo made his competitive debut for Nigeria in today’s 2-1 win over Benin to start off qualifying for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) – and Super Eagles fans were again delighted with his performance, calling the midfielder a “blessing.”

Aribo had appeared in two friendlies for the Super Eagles before his competitive bow and had impressed against Ukraine and Brazil as Gernot Rohr introduced some new faces to his side ahead of the AFCON qualifiers.

After scoring twice in his previous two games, fans were hoping Aribo would make it three out of three but it wasn’t to be – although the Gers ace did put in another stellar performance to help the Super Eagles on their way to three points.
