Exciting Rangers prospects Kai Kennedy and Josh McPake have both suffered what appear to be badly-timed injury blows.
17-year-old Kennedy was rewarded for a strong first half of the season with a first-team debut against Stranraer a fortnight ago, while 18-year-old McPake had just got back to goalscoring ways with the Development team following a difficult loan stint in the Championship with Dundee.

However, they both missed Tuesday night’s Glasgow Cup clash against Clyde at the Hummel Training Centre.
It was stated on Rangers.co.uk that they were unavailable for selection because they had ‘picked up injuries in Saturday’s friendly against Huddersfield.’
No specifics were given regarding the nature of the problems or the potential length of time either player will be out, but the timing is unfortunate both from a personal and collective point of view.
Both players will have been high in confidence, particularly Kennedy, due to his recent involvement around the senior squad, and both would have been keen to continue to impress during what is a congested period of fixtures.
The Development Squad were able to squeeze past Clyde without the two attackers, meaning that the club’s Glasgow Cup campaign didn’t suffer.
However, with the Challenge Cup semi-final at Inverness Caley Thistle just over two weeks away, Graeme Murty will be hoping for speedy recoveries.

If available, the Scotland U19 internationals would be nailed on starters for that fixture, as the Colts go in search of a spot in the final.
