Rangers are through to the last 32 of the Europa League with a game to spare after a 3-2 win over Standard Liege – and Gers fans on Twitter are absolutely delighted to see them progress.

The Light Blues fell behind twice, drawing level through James Tavernier and Connor Goldson, before Scott Arfield’s goal sealed a stunning comeback and book qualification for Steven Gerrard’s side for a second successive season.

It was an uncharacteristically disjointed first half an hour from Rangers, but they soon burst into life in a crazy seven-minute spell that saw Goldson head home before Tavernier fired home from the penalty spot in injury time.

Arfield’s goal in the second half came after a spell of Liege pressure but the hosts ended the game well in control and probably could have been further ahead.

Rangers will now be able to travel to Poland for the final game against Lech Poznan with no pressure and being able to rest some players with an eye on the hectic festive league schedule.

The Gers will now be able to look forward to more European football in 2021 and a potential draw against some of the big names still in the competition.
