'No regrets' - Kenny Dalglish message to Rangers ahead of Seville Europa League final

Liverpool legend Sir Kenny Dalglish has urged the Rangers players to have ‘no regrets’ after Wednesday’s Europa League final clash with Eintracht Frankfurt.

The Light Blues head for Seville this week as they look to mark 50 years since the club won their first European trophy in Barcelona with a second European success in Spain.

Dalglish is no stranger to European trophies, having won four at Liverpool and he encouraged Gio van Bronckhorst’s side to ‘give it everything at the Estadio Ramón Sánchez-Pizjuán.

“Winning a European trophy is very, very special, and I was lucky to win three European Cups and the Super Cup with Liverpool,” Dalglish wrote in his Sunday Post column.

“So my message to the Rangers players is give it everything you’ve got – and have no regrets.”

Rangers stars have chance to make themselves immortal in Seville

While there is still an inquest to be held over the disappointing outcome of the league, that is all on the back burner ahead of the Europa League final.

If the Rangers players can lift the trophy on Wednesday, they will write their name into immortality at Ibrox alongside the Barcelona Bears.

With a couple of survivors in the squad from the run to the 2008 UEFA Cup final, there will be that little bit of experience there to let the players know just what this means.

Everybody needs to empty the tank in Seville and put in a performance that, no matter the result, they are proud of.

Do that, and the result should take care of itself.
