Scottish FA should take sensible Cup final fan decision as Rangers eye double glory

Rangers fans were hopeful they could have been there in person to, potentially, see the Gers lift a domestic double after it was confirmed fans will be allowed into Hampden for Euro 2020 – but after the revelation that wouldn’t include the Scottish Cup final then the SFA should look to move the showpiece final elsewhere.

However, with stadia like Ibrox, Murrayfield or even Celtic Park sitting unused, it would make far more sense to move from Hampden and allow fans in to the final game of the season.

A capacity of 25% will be allowed inside Hampden for the Euros and allowing similar into one of the three major grounds not being used by UEFA could see as many as 17000 fans at the Scottish Cup final.

After Rangers romped to the title, the Gers have now shifted their focus to the Scottish Cup and thousands of fans seeing the Gers get their hands on the famous old trophy – even if it’s at Parkhead – would be the perfect end to an almost perfect season.

Before the final though, there are still a number of rounds to be completed and Rangers face Celtic in the next round with the winners taking on St Johnstone or Clyde in the last eight.

While it might seem like common sense, that’s often in short supply at Hampden so the final will almost certainly remain at the national stadium, locking out thousands of fans at a time when the Scottish FA could do with every bit of financial help they can get.

Rangers are back in Premiership action against Hibernian at Ibrox this afternoon – here’s our Predicted XI and Preview Video ahead of the game.
