Rangers midfielder Scott Arfield has been linked with a move away from Ibrox this summer – but his comments at today’s press conference must surely kill off any idea that the Canadian international wants a move elsewhere.
Crystal Palace and Southampton have both been credited with an interest in signing Arfield this summer but there won’t be many Rangers fans who want to see him head back down south.

Speaking at the Hummel Training Centre earlier, Arfield said he is the “happiest he’s been in years” and admitted that his family are settled back in Scotland.

While the opportunity to move to the Premier League is too much for some players, Arfield has been there and done it already after starring for Burnley.

Going to someone like Southampton or Palace is just going to be more of the same lower mid-table existence he had at Turf Moor.

With the chance to win trophies at Ibrox and play in Europe, Arfield has everything he could want with Rangers.

He’s also clearly enjoying his football and his performances in recent weeks, leading to him winning the Premiership Player of the Month, have been fantastic.
There will likely be more speculation over clubs trying to entice Arfield away from Ibrox this summer but, if today’s press conference is anything to go by, it would need to take something spectacular to get Arfield away from Rangers.
