WES FODERINGHAM – 6
Whilst Wes didn’t have a lot to do, I can see why some felt he could have done better with the goals. There was a big deflection for the free kick, but his decision to dive for a shot which should have been blocked by the wall was questionable. He’s let in far more goals than he will have wanted so far this season.
JAMES TAVERNIER – 6
Our right hand side was the least effective it’s been all season last night. Tavernier put in a real shift and tried to create chances, but was unable to fashion much. He was blamed by most for the second Thistle goal, which I felt was a little harsh but he could have done better there.
FABIO CARDOSO – 6
Gave away a daft free kick which led to the Thistle equaliser. That aside, though, he didn’t look troubled at all, and played some good passes forward at various times. He’s still an inexperienced centre half, and that showed with the decision making that led to the goal.
BRUNO ALVES – 5
His decision to let the ball bounce led to Cardoso giving away the free kick. He also turned his back on the shot in the wall and the deflection beat Foderingham. A lot of his longer passes didn’t work out, and it was a game which was easily his worst for Rangers so far.
LEE WALLACE – 2
Only on the park for 11 minutes, in a game where it took a while for either team to get started. Hopefully, his injury isn’t one that will keep him out for any length of time.
DANIEL CANDEIAS – 5
As good as he has been in most games, Candeias struggled last night. His touch was inconsistent, and his crosses were often too rushed from deep. He can never be faulted for his workrate or desire, but I’d imagine he feels annoyed by how he played last night.

GRAHAM DORRANS – 8
Dorrans had a far better game than most credited him for last night. He won the ball often, tried to keep the game flowing, and scored a great goal. There was energy and drive in his performance, and it was his best overall since signing for us. Hoepfully, this is the start of him showing the sort of form we expect.
RYAN JACK – 6
Done well with the assist for the Morelos goal. His performance dipped after the bad challenge from Ryan Edwards in the first half. He was certainly tidy in possession, but as Windass and Candeias struggled to make a real impact from wide, his passing had to be sideways or backwards quite often.
JOSH WINDASS – 5
Windass worked really hard as well, but his decision making was erratic. Far too many shots from distance when he wasn’t balanced or had better options killed a lot of chances. He never really got in behind, and some passes on the counter were poor. He’ll have much better games than this.
ALFREDO MORELOS – 7
Morelos had a good game overall. His goal was a great finish, and he worked hard. He won the ball often and used his strength well to hold it up. A couple of chances outside of his goal didn’t really fall for him, and some passes were poor, though. Clearly the main man in the team from an attacking sense.
KENNY MILLER – 4
Miller hasn’t started the season well, and never really made an impact last night. He was substituted earlier than he has been so far, and up to that point offered little. His best moments came when working back to win the ball, which isn’t what you hope to see from one of your main attacking players.
DECLAN JOHN – 5
Replaced Wallace early in the game. He got forward a lot, but rarely got anywhere with that play. He may have to replace Wallace if our captain’s injury is a bad one, so we’ll get more games to make a real judgement on him.
EDUARDO HERRERA – 4
Worked hard when he came on, and could have done better with a couple of chances. Being asked to chase the game when the service is so poor never makes a striker look good.
CARLOS PENA – 5
Created a couple of chances with his movement, and worked really hard. His overall play requires tightening up, with some loose passes, but he certainly shows promise with his movement. It must be getting close to him starting a game.
